“Ronald Graham, 1935-2020”

Graham reportedly died yesterday, Monday, July 6, 2020.

His AMS obituary says “he created the Erdős number.”

See also the tag in the previous post.

(That tag was created and added to several posts
just before I saw the above news of Graham’s death.
The tag, , was suggested by an earlier post from
June 30 — the cartoonist’s death date in today’s 8:45 PM post.)

This journal on Oct. 2, the date of death for
the developer of mathematical Braille —

Clicking on the image of St. Peter's Square in that post led to

Braille, as noted in last midnight's post, is based
on a six-dot cell. For some pure mathematics of
the six-dot cell, see

The Game in the Ship cannot be approached as a job,
a vocation, a career, or a recreation. To the contrary,
it is Life and Death itself at work there. In the Inner Game,
we call the Game Dhum Welur , the Mind of God."
